Miss Vigus began her teaching career in 1986. She has taught in grades K-12 during that time. She is currently teaching seventh and eighth grade special education in rural northern Michigan.
She has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Eastern Michigan University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Oakland University, and advanced coursework in educational administration from Central Michigan University. Miss Vigus is a life long learner.

Miss Vigus started writing poetry in her early teens. It was a way to express her feelings. In high school she was published in the school newspaper. In college she continued to take writing classes. Her first published work was in 1978 when she self-published Only a Start. It included a poem that had been considered as the state poem of Michigan. She continued to write poetry and had her first book published in October of 2004. It included her book Only a Start and added the book Beyond.
In June of 2005, Miss Vigus’ second book, So You Think You Want to be a Mommy? was released. The focus of the book was teens and pregnancy. Miss Vigus had seen a cycle of unwed mothers over the twenty years she had been teaching. As a single mother herself, she wanted young girls to know that having a baby is not glamorous or all rainbows and love. She wanted them to know some of the things they will go through that have nothing to do with motherhood, and everything to do with it.
Her first novel Secrets, a mystery in a small town, was published to rave reviews in early spring 2006. She has continued to write and her second novel Out of the Flames was released in the fall of 2006. She is currently finishing a yet unnamed novel and has four more in the works.

Dubbed by a cousin Lady Rebecka, Duchess of Lilac, she finds herself living in an old farmhouse surrounded by lilacs. In her role as Duchess, she holds tea parties. She encourages her friends and family alike to set aside the world and to walk in fantasy for a little while.
Miss Vigus has one daughter, two grandchildren, a step-grandson, and several extended grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family. She hikes, swims, crochets, reads, and writes to pass the time.
