Summer Has Been Quite a Ride

I spent a week away after school was out. I think I really needed to regroup. It was wonderful. I came home rested and relaxed. Then I dug in and started decluttering. I am making progress, but have a long way to go.
I spent part of the July 4th week-end in Vanderbilt with my parents. We checked out the new Odawa casino in Petoskey, had a wonderful Mexican dinner in Boyne City, got to see part of an arts and crafts show. I bought a beautiful hand woven poncho. Then we saw a lovely display of fireworks...not as much out over the lake as they used to be. It got very chilly and we had the heat on all the way home.
I had a job interview the middle of July. Nothing came of it. I also took a class on special education budget. Then I left for three intensive days at the Midwest Writer's Conference. It was awesome. I have learned so much. I have also been working on my newest mystery novel every day since I got back. It will be a while before it comes out as I am hoping to find an agent who will put me with a traditional publisher. Time will tell.
August has been a whirlwind. So far I've had three interviews. I know for certain that I did not get one of the jobs, however, I didn't feel it was a good fit either so am not disappointed. I am still sending out resumes. We never know what might be around the corner.
School starts two weeks from Tuesday for me. So, I have been busy working on lesson plans. I will soon put together my parent letters. Things are moving right along.
Hope you all find time to read, write, and just enjoy these last few days of summer.
